YES>>THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!! I've only done 8K in it too! Every morning when it's cold it shudders so much I can hardly pull away. My ex is a mechanic and says it will happen again even with replacement plates due to the set up and materials used?? Once engine's hot it's not a problem..UNLESS..You're uphill and trying to emerge quickly at a right turn. The engine is too ferocious for the car/clutch and again impacts on it's responsiveness to move away promptly! Reminds me of a 2CV in such conditions!!! I have the 1200 LT. I even try not to use the clutch when on choke but it's impossible in city traffic; where this problem is exacerbated! SOLUTION PLEASE!!!!

Just had an update. It's the buckle plate of the clutch. Warped when cold and smooths out a bit when hot! My short journeys and frequent stop/starts are making it worse! The materials are cheap in Clutch assembly and the metal too thin on buckle plate...We're going to try another clutch but are not convinced that it won't recur! It should be a warranty job but the Dealer says it's wear and tear! Mine's the Jan 11 model. Cocktail green too! Must have been the 'Friday cars'

I have a 2011 1.2 LT and experience the same shuddering in heavy in-city driving. I mentioned it to the Chevrolet service station about a year ago and they claimed that I was shifting incorrectly. I responded that this is ridiculous since I have driven manual transmition cars for the last 32 years and the earliest I have every replaced a clutch has been at around the 320K km point. I have never experienced such a shuddering on Daihatsu, Mazda, VW, Mitushishi.

I ahve a similar problem with the car, but only difference is the car "bounces" / Shudders badly when i pull off in first.
This only happens when the car is hot.
I replaced the rear engine mount on the car because i thought that was the problem.
I have checked the torque settings on all 3 mounts and they are all ok.
The problem still happens.
Has anyone had this problem? if so does anyone know what can be done to fix it?

Thanks

ANYONE SOLVED THIS RECURRENT PROBLEM!?

Me too. Mine's the LT 1.2 also. I am finally taking it in tomorrow to have the safety bracket added to the clutch pedal but as i always say.."There's no such thing as a coincidence in a Murder enquiry"! There IS MOST CERTAINLY an issue with this model's clutch and it is dangerous! It's almost impossible to pull away from standing without it leaping and trying to stall. I have been fobbed off so many times that a clutch is a consumable, or it's my driving, or its the materials the lining's are made from.. You wouldn't spend 8K on a car if you were told that at 4 to 6000 miles the clutch will judder violently in low gears and stall at junctions because it totally loses it's torque! I am not alone in this. Also, UNBELIEVABLY, I was told by a Chevrolet Garage that only 1 pedal had broken and that was why they were doing a safety recall..RUBBISH.. I've seen loads of reports about this fault and about the clutch being PLASTIC! What???? I think Watch Dog and Twitter if this nightmare isn't sorted...

Hi folks, My 2013 Spark (USA, 1LT, 1.2L Manual) has this same intermittent clutch shudder issue and it is most annoying and also difficult to reproduce on demand to demonstrate to my dealer. Cold mornings are the worst from a 1st gear start on an incline.

Has anyone had any luck replacing the 'buckle plate' or any other combination of parts to fix this? I've been to my dealer twice now to have it checked, and each time they haven't been able to reproduce the shudder. Has anyone had any success with GM customer service in authorizing a dealer repair of this issue?

Any generative suggestions appreciated! -JT

Guys that sounds like a little bit of oil is getting on your clutch, possibly from a rear main seal weeping. If you will ride the clutch by that I mean dont let it out all the way let it slip and see if that burns the oil off if that solves it I would be raising cane for Chevy to check it out.
